About PrivaPDF —
built for trust.

PrivaPDF is a browser-only PDF and text toolkit. We don't host your files because we never see them — every tool runs entirely on your device using WebAssembly, the same technology that powers Photoshop and AutoCAD on the web.

When you drop a PDF, your browser decodes it locally using pdf.js and pdf-lib. Compression runs in a Web Worker so the UI stays responsive. OCR uses Tesseract.js compiled to WebAssembly. None of these libraries make network requests — you can verify this by opening your browser's DevTools Network panel and watching for outbound traffic. There won't be any.

Most "free online PDF" sites upload your file, process it on their servers, and email-gate the download. Your private documents — contracts, IDs, medical records — sit on someone else's disk. PrivaPDF removes the server entirely. The same operations are possible in a modern browser, faster, and with zero exposure.

Why "privacy-first"?
Every PrivaPDF tool runs locally in your browser via WebAssembly. Your PDFs are never uploaded to any server. You can verify this in your browser's Network tab — there are zero outbound bytes when you process a file.
Is it really free?
Yes. No signup, no daily limits, no watermark on outputs, no premium tier. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads on tool pages.
Who built this?
PrivaPDF is built and operated from Spain. The full source for the privacy-preserving PDF pipeline is open in the project repository.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. After your first visit the app is installed as a Progressive Web App. Tools work fully offline thereafter — including OCR.
